Saltwell Harrier League Competition

500px-The_Windy_NookThis coming Saturday 22nd March is the last Harrier League of the season and all position in both the mens and womens competitions are still up for grabs. However, it would require a series of calamities on Sarah Garrets part and a degree in maths to figure out permutations to bet against her taking the 2014 title. In the minor placings Jackie Candlish will require a gusty performance to prevent a number of her fellow athletes bumping her off the podium.

Despite giving away a 15 point advantage at Alnwick, Keith is still in pole position. Though a week suffering from a double doze of MAN FLU will require him to dig out all the reserves he has, to fight off a challenge from the young pretender Andrew Softley. But team points will be the only focus on Wood’s mind as he his reported to have said ‘I intend to lead from the front’, putting club before individual glory as Saltwell’s men need to gain maximum team points, ensuring the unthinkable of relegation to Division 3 is avoided.

So it’s all to run for at Wrekenton on Saturday. Lets hope everyone who can turns out to support the club by either running or cheering.

Regards

Keith
