Recommended Local Races

There have never been so many races to choose from but the races below have been put together to let the whole club (and particularly new members) know about local races that have become particularly popular with Saltwell Harriers over the years.

We share these ideas with the aim of encouraging members to plan their racing year – but also to reassure people that at these races they are likely to see a few friendly faces in red and white hoops, have the opportunity to car share or even have a go at a team prize!

10k (or similar) Races

For those wanting to step up from ParkRun and target improvements in their 10k time over the year. There are lots of 10k races to choose from so look out for your own and share ideas.

Local Trail Races

For those who have enjoyed the cross country season and want to continue off road running, we have also picked out a selection of local trail / multi-terrain races. This type of running is also excellent training for anyone wanting a gentle introduction to fell racing or to build towards ultra-running.

Team Relays

Saltwell enter teams in to a few local relay events. Number of laps and terrains vary although essentially these races are a good way to test your speed over shorter distances and most of all are good fun! Look out for emails about entering teams but also let your captains know if you are interested.
